Kent Fashion Museum
Dazzle Awards

Working with the Kent State University Museum, I was asked o created suite of artworks to celebrate the 40th anniversary of their “Dazzle” gala in fall 2025. Director Dr. Sarah Spinner Liska asked me to make weavings and woven drawings that honored the history of the museum, and that had direct inspiration from its wonderful architecture and interior design. I was really inspired the most by the pillars in the Higbee Gallery, as well as the golden doors that are emblazoned with large letter “K”s. While I was a student at KSU, I visited the museum several times, but I didn’t know about many of these details until I talked with the helpful and dedicated museum staff. I was happy to design and weave these artworks for the wonderful patrons who are helping to further the future of the museum.

Bounce Innovation Hub Second Floor Co-Working

For this project, Hazel Tree Interiors in Akron, Ohio requested 3 original artworks, and comissioned a 4th pieces. The color story for the 4 seating areas references the colors I dyed for the pieces to make the area feel comfortable and cohesive. custom ambrosia maple frames match the wood used in the conference tables nearby.

These works are now installed at Bounce Innovation Hub where they are accompanied by matching furniture. These spaces are designed for people to work independently, or have small group meetings when the curtains between the spaces are closed.

Patron Saint Cafe + Bar, Cleveland, Ohio

This handwoven custom ceiling finish was created for Patron Saint Cafe + Bar in the Hingetown neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio. Collaborating with Oliver Architecture, I wove these 5, 15’ panels to stretch across the resturant’’s ceiling, so that it would resemble the owner Marie Artale’s visits to cafe’s in the Mediterranean. Each panel is 3’ x 15’, and is woven from long staple, US grown cotton on my 10 harness loom in my Canton, Ohio Studio.

New Club Golf Medals

Working in collaboration with several other Northeast Ohio artists, We designed and created multiple medals and awards for the New Club private golf league. The pattern is a diamond “birdseye” twill, woven in an abstracted plaid design to honor the traditions of golf starting in Scotland.

Each ribbon for this project was hand-woven on my 10 harness loom in my studio using durable rayon Tencel fiber.

The custom colors were dyed into the yarns before weaving to create a cascading plaid effect across the fabric. The twill “birds eye” design echoes the honeycomb motifs in the medals created by metal artist Sherri Simms.
